Looking for equilibrium
Article Abstract:
Malaysia's economy has run down somewhat in 1992 as indicated by the probable drop in gross domestic product growth to 7.6%, compared to 8% in 1992 and 8.7% in 1991. The economic slowdown has brought a general decline in business activity. Private investment and consumer spending have also fallen. However, a sharp rise in exports, particularly of transport equipment and wood products, have lessened the severity of this downturn.

Inflation abates
Article Abstract:
Malaysia's inflation rate has eased resulting in less strain to the economy. Foreign investments have helped tide the economy over and the decrease in interest rates have indicated that Bank Negara, the country's central bank, is no longer worried about the effect of easy money on inflation. Interest rates are, however, believed to adequately high enough to induce more foreign funds into the country.
