The Scorpion light tank from Alvis Vehicles was originally made for the British Army in 1972 as a tracked combat reconnaissance vehicle. Alvis has built a total of 3,000 Scorpion vehicles, which has seen service with countries such as Belgium, Botswana and the Philippines. The latest Scorpion model is powered by a Cummins or Perkins diesel engine and equipped with a Cockerill 90mm gun. Other features include NBC protection system; image intensification or thermal night vision equipment; air- conditioning system; and flotation screen.

The M8 Close Combat Vehicle - Light from United Defense LP was originally built to meet the needs of the US Army for an Armored Gun System. Standard features of the M8 include computerized fire-control system; day/night vision equipment; and NBC protection system. The M8 can also be outfitted with three different levels of armor protection, with the Level III increasing its weight to 23,586 kg. Power is generated by a Detroit Diesel 6V-92TA diesel engine coupled to a General Dynamics Land Systems HMPT-500- 3EC automatic transmission.

Article Abstract:
The SK 105 light tank/tank destroyer from Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug was originally developed to meet the requirements of the Austrian Army for a new anti-tank vehicle. The SK 105 is equipped with a two-person oscillating turret armed with a 105mm rifled gun, which is fed by two-revolver type magazines. Standard features include a computerized fire-control system with day/night sights. Options include NBC protection and thermal imaging.
