Scarab
Article Abstract:
The Scarab 4x4 fast attack/scout vehicle made by Alvis Vehicles uses proven subsystems to reduce overall life-cycle costs. For instance, the engine and drive line is the same as that used in the Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG 4x4 cross-country vehicle. The typical configuration of the Scarab is a three-man crew seated at the front with the power pack at the rear. It can be equipped with a range of weapons systems, including 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine guns, 20mm cannons or anti-tank guided missiles, all mounted on the roof.
