MALAYSIA: CONTRACT FOR COGIFER
Article Abstract:
As part of the programme to double up the Rawang-Ipoh railway line (175km) in Malaysia, the French company, Cogifer (De Dietrich group) has won a FFr 100mn contract to the supply and assembly of 227 rail components (switching points). These components will be manufactured by European and Thai subsidiaries of the company, while the assembly could be sub-contracted locally. The French railway parts manufacturer is now banking on the modernisation of the Seremban-Singapore line (370km).

IVORY COAST: TANK WAGONS INAUGURATED

On 6 November 2000, SITARAIL (Societe Internationale de Transports Africains by Rails) put 52 tank wagons into service which were purchased for CFA Fr 1.050bn from the Indian company BBUNL. These wagons will be used to supply the Sonabby company's petroleum depot at Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina-Faso.
