Monolisa Multiplast (MM) of Daman is engaged in the manufactures of injection-moulded plastic furniture, tables, crates, rockers, drums and containers. It has an installed capacity of 3,600 tonnes per annum. It floated a public issue in April 1995 to part-finance its project. It had posted a net profit of Rs2.60 crore on sales of Rs25.89 crore in 1995-96. In 1996-97, its sales grew by 2 percent and its net profit was Rs0.55 crore. PAPER INDUSTRY: ITC BHADRACHALAM PAPER BOARDS

ITC Bhadrachalam Paper Boards (IBPB) manufactures paper and paper boards. Its now incurring losses. It made a loss of Rs8.96 crore in 1997-98. Its borrowings total Rs425 crore. This poor performance of IBPB has been due to the economic slowdown and its high interest cost. Its Rs660 crore plan to expand the coated packaging boards production capacity to 1.2 lakh tonnes has been delayed by over one year. It also proposes to set up a facility having a production capacity of 2.50 lakh tonnes at a cost of Rs1,600 crore. It imports less than 10 percent of its raw material needs. It is a net forex earner. Amigo Exports (AE) went public in 1994-95. It had earned a net profit of Rs2.80 crore on sales of Rs14.99 crore in 1994-95. In the first half of 1995-96, it had made a net profit of Rs0.78 crore on sales of Rs6.06 crore. It has an authorised share capital of Rs4.05 crore. Its scrip was traded at Rs2.50 in July 1997.
