Malaysian tycoon juggles two giants
Article Abstract:
The management style of Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Tajudin Ramli is seriously affecting the stock market performance of his Technology Resources Industries Bhd. (TRI) and Malaysian Airline System (MAS) companies. His strict cost-cutting measures which led to massive resignations and employee morale problems have made investors wary, causing the stock prices of TRI and MAS to drop by 34% and 21% respectively in 1996. TRI's Celcom subsidiary holds 60% of the Malaysian cellular telephone market.
