More empty seats on Europe's jets

Air France-KLM S.A., Ireland's Aer Lingus Group PLC, and the UK's easyJet PLC reported fewer passengers on flights for the month of December 2007, suggesting that consumer demand may be dropping. Air France-KLM's passenger load factor decreased to 78.6%. Aer Lingus' load factor declined by 4.6 percentage points to reach 68%. EasyJet's load factor dropped by 2.2 percentage points to reach 78.9%.

European airlines post higher passenger traffic
Article Abstract:
Three of Europe's airlines reported higher passenger traffic for September 2007. EasyJet PLC, a UK carrier, posted a 14% increase to 3.4 mil passengers, while Ireland's Aer Lingus Group PLC showed a 9% increase to 847,000 passengers. Sweden's SAS AB reported a 4.7% increase to 3.8 mil passengers.

Air France KLM S.A., SAS AB, and easyJet PLC are all reporting increased traffic in November 2006. Lower air fares have resulted in an upward trend in passenger air travel since the summer.
