Article Abstract:

In France, between 1993 and 1997, a lot of road construction and improvements have been made. Included in the projects completed are the upgrading to expressway standards of the N1/N28 coastal road from the Belgian border to Rouen and the A26 autoroute which connects Calais with the main motorway network. The A8 Belgian autoroute from Brussels to Lille which provides an alternative high-speed route from Brussels to the Tunnel has also been completed. Planned projects on the other hand includes a high-speed autoroute that will connect the Tunnel and the Belgian motorway network.

Article Abstract:

The French are allowed a minimum of five weeks or 25 legal leave days. This leave entitlement makes the country have a higher level of annual holiday days than the European average. The French usually take their leave in the month of August, the time when a number of companies continue to completely close down operations. It is also important to mention that the French people observe ten public holidays. In addition, public holidays are often linked to a weekend, resulting in many "short break" holidays.
