Market research on the Internet - threat or opportunity?
Article Abstract:
Market researchers can use the Internet for transmitting data by e-mail, website promotion, research and background information on competitors and fieldwork. The opportunities for fieldwork on the Internet are considerable because it is fast and it is set to become as ordinary as the telephone. E-mail surveys and questionnaires can be sent out although responses rates are usually poor. Random website surveys and panel website surveys are also possible. However, care needs to be taken to ensure interviewer quality standards are maintained if the outcomes are to be of any value.
