McDonald's Corp. posted an improvement of 11% in its earnings for the first quarter of 1999. However, investors showed a lack of confidence in the company as a result of economic troubles in Brazil and Russia. McDonald's posted $402.7 million in net income for the quarter. During the same period in 1998, the company posted $362.2 million. McDonald's revenue increased by approximately 8% to $3.04 billion.
