Meanwhile, there's Iran...
Article Abstract:
Iran and the US have not had diplomatic relations since 1979 and there are signs that this could change. The US has been criticized by the European Union (EU) for threatening legal action against EU members as a way of isolating Iran. Arab countries and Russia are less willing than the EU to follow US orders relating to Iran. There are internal divisions within Iran which means that the US has to be cautious in dealings with Iran, and Congress may oppose closer ties with Iran.
