Millennium turn-down for Libeskind's Boilerhouse
Article Abstract:
The 67 million pounds sterling Boilerhouse project by Daniel Libeskind for the Victoria & Albert Museum, designed to mark the Millennium, has been rejected for funding by the Millennium Commission. The Commission felt that the project is not distinctive enough. The Victoria & Albert is now planning to apply for funding to the Arts Council. Schemes which will be considered by the Commission include the Wales Millennium Centre, the New Technopolis Millennium library and the Museum of British History.

How the Swiss swung Bankside

The Swiss approach to converting the building was a combination of new and 'found' space and the creation of classical galleries, working in sympathy with the building.
