Mixed emotions

Reaction in the Middle East to the terrorist attacks on the US has been very mixed. Israel has shown sympathy but also a feeling that at last the world knows what Israel has suffered. Some Arabs have rejoiced at the attacks, but many Arabs are afraid that Muslims and Arabs will be blamed for the attacks.

The day the world changed
Article Abstract:
The terrible attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sep 11, 2001, will change both the US and the wider world. The US will have to find a new balance between security and freedom, while the international community must review defence policy and join together to fight terrorism.

The fight against terrorism which is being planned by the government of US Pres George Bush will be a long and risky one, but a necessary one. The US needs determination, patience, intelligence and a sense of priorities.
