Modern Malaysia is Mahathir's creation...
Article Abstract:
Mahathir Mohamad is to be credited for modern Malaysia and his New Economic Policy (NEP) is instrumental in helping the country achieve racial harmony. The NEP has been dismissed by the west as racist but it has worked well for the country so far and will likely continue to work for the country in the future. The NEP is definitely pro Malay but the results speak for themselves as Chinese and Malays have a nice working relationship thanks to the NEP.

Members of the elite will scavenge Suharto inc
Article Abstract:
The removal of Suharto from the presidency is only the start of the new government's reformation of the economy. The more difficult task of identifying and dismantling business establishments in which Suharto and his clan have interests in, which are estimated at around 1,247 firms in Indonesia alone, remains to be done. The Suharto clan will also have to contend with cronies who will undoubtedly seek control of the corporations.
