Lamont added some substance to government plans to encourage economic growth in a statement he issued on Nov 12, 1992. He promised to limit pay for government jobs, ended tax on new cars and agreed that extra funds should be used to buy empty houses depressing the real estate market.

Article Abstract:
The Bank of England reports inflation will continue to be around 4% despite the government's goal of price stability. Norman Lamont's anti-inflation policy is not practical especially in light of the fact that government offices keep raising their own prices.
