European Telecom, a trader and distributor of mobile phone handsets, is able to respond rapidly to changes in demand, according to founder Warren Hardy. It is benefiting from the rapid rise in mobile phone usage, as well as from the fact that service providers sometimes supply handsets free of charge. The company exports to more than 50 countries, and is set to reach turnover of 71 million pounds sterling in 1996.

Mobile phones and pagers in Germany
Article Abstract:
Germany's mobile phone market grew by 70% in 1998 although market penetration is low. Growth rates are expected to continue to be high with 50% of all Germans forecast to use a mobile phone by 2005. The most widely used brand is Siemens with a 2.1% market share. Sales of mobile phones are set to reach between 10 million units and 12 million units by 2000.
