Murder and manhunts
Article Abstract:
Hutu rebels have reportedly been involved in killings in Burundi, including the death of a Unicef employee. Hopes for peace in Burundi have been affected by the death of Tanzania's Julius Nyerere, who had chaired peace talks in Tanzania. The Congolese government supports some rebels in Burindi, while Burundi supports some Congolese rebels. The Rwandan and Burindi governments both face Hutu militias as common opponents, though Rwanda denies having used its troops in Burindi to search for Hutu militias.
