MSEB MAY DEFUSE STATIONS WHEN DPC GOES OPERATIONAL
Article Abstract:
The Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) is likely to wind up its thermal stations once the Dabhol Power Company (DPC) starts operating. DPC is likely to supply over 4,000 million units of electricity to the Maharashtra State power grid. This may turn Maharashtra into a power surplus State. After commissioning of the DPC project, there may not be enough customers in the State to buy electricity. The installed capacity of MSEB is 8,231 mw and that of DPC 2,450 mw. (gs)
