Call rates opened at around 8 percent, remained range-bound throughout the day and closed at around 8.05 percent at the inter-bank call money market on November 12, 1998. The Reuter Mumbai Interbank Overnight Average was 8.07 percent on November 12, 1998. The total outstanding under the fixed rate repo has reached about Rs3500 crore with Rs3307 crore flowing into the 8 percent fixed-rate repo held on the day. (khr)

Call rates remained steady at 9 percent on October 28, 1998. The Reuters Mumbai Interbank overnight average rate was at 9.05 percent. Reserve Bank of India's three-day eight percent fixed rate repos could not raise any funds for the second successive day on October 28, 1998. The total funds in repos remained at Rs3,000 crore. (gs)
