New Zealand completes controversial sale
Article Abstract:
The New Zealand government is to gain net proceeds of NZ$1.6 billion from the sale of the assets of Forestry Corp to a consortium led by Fletcher Challenge for NZ$2,026 million. The sale has been criticised by opposition politicians, who believe that the constitution outlaws asset sales close to an election. This has been denied by the government. The sale is the second-largest privatisation in New Zealand after that of NZ Telecom.

Paper and packaging sector set for big 1995
Article Abstract:
Svenska Cellulosa (SCA) has become the largest forest industries group in Europe following its purchase of a 60% stake in German pulp and paper concern PWA.
