Sea mines, simple but effective
Article Abstract:
Sea mines cause a significant amount of damage when compared to their cost. For instance, the mines used in the USS Samuel B Roberts, Princeton and Tripoli incidents cost a mere $11,500 to procure but it took $117 million to repair the damage they have caused. The latest sea mines are equipped with microprocessor-controlled target-detection devices, ship counters, remote-control facilities, delayed-arming mechanisms and ship counters.
