Governments and their central banks have controlled the economy through monetary and fiscal policies, but the recent trend toward a global market is making such control less possible. The history of controlling the money supply to limit inflation is analysed.

Time to bury Keynes?
Article Abstract:
Fiscal policy cannot be focused on the short-term if this results in a negative effect on the long-term situation. It is important to reduce budget deficits, and the Keynesian policy that governments borrow in times of recession is not necessarily sound.
