New shrimp beamer for Danish owners: Third trawler for two skippers

Article Abstract:

The Mette Janni, is the third shrimper delivered to Danish fishermen, co-owners and skippers Frits Pederson and Bent Kristensen by the Vertvaerft yard of Hvide Sande. The new trawler has been fitted out for utrawling and cooking brown shrimp and can also be prepared for working double-rig otter trawls in case the shrimp fishery fails.

Skippers see nylon door in action

Article Abstract:

The details pertaining to the testing of the new nylon body Opex trawl doors, manufactured by Hampidjan, are presented. The doors were fitted on to Irish mid-water trawler, Atlantic Challenge. A group of pelagic skippers from different nations had come to witness the performance of the doors in the test drive.
