Nissan may cut manufacturing capacity

Nissan Motor Co. is studying the possibility of reducing its domestic production capacity by as much as 25% over the next three-year period. The move would come under a restructuring strategy that is being formed by Renault SA. Renault is a 37% owner of Nissan, the second-ranked car maker in Japan. Nissan is considering cutting its capacity from two million cars annually to 1.5 million.

Mazda swings to first-half net profit
