Nortel Networks to pay $2.4 billion to settle suits

Nortel Networks Corp. of Canada is to settle two class-action lawsuits in the United States over the telecommunications companies accounting scandal. An independent investigation indicated that top company officials manipulated financial results to give themselves financial bonuses. The pay out was $2.4 billion.
