Not a black and white issue
Article Abstract:
Existing statistics reveal that although ethnic minorities make up 6.7 per cent of the economically active population of the United kingdom, they only account for about 2 per cent of the employed in construction industry. A report commissioned by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) with Royal Holloway College, London, suggested that the under-representation of the ethnic minorities was due to a lack of awareness among 16 to 34 year olds of the opportunities available in the construction industry.
