Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: The trade turnover with France increased four times to FRF 15 bil in 2000 compared to FRF 3.7 bil in 1993. The Czech Republic imported goods worth FRF 8.5 bil from France and exported goods worth FRF 6.5 bil to France in 2000. France, which is the fifth largest exporter to the Czech Republic in 2001, is aiming to take the second silver position gradually. French investments in the Czech Republic have totalled USD 120 mil per year on average since 1997. A total of 350 French firms have representative offices in the Czech Republic. A total of 60 firms of the number are industrial companies, which ensure 35,000 jobs in the Czech Republic.

CKD Blansko has a new owner

CKD Blansko (Blansko, Czech Republic), engineering firm, has been acquired by Cash & Capital. CKD Blansko was under bankruptcy proceedings from Aug 1997, for nearly four years. During the bankruptcy proceedings, the firm maintained its production and generated a turnover of CEK 400-600 mil per year.
