Cash dispenser fees will increase
Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: Nearly 100 mil cash withdrawals from cash dispensers were done in the country in 2000. The volume of the withdrawals was CEK 210 bil. Only about 5% of the transactions were done by foreigners. The turnover of cash-free card payment was CEK 45 bil in 2000. Nearly 80% of the turnover was ensured by foreigners. Czech citizens ensured only 2% of cash-free card payment in the Czech Republic in 1995. The share increased 10-fold to 20% in 2000. There were 1,589 cash dispensers in operation in the Czech Republic in 2000. A total of 890 pieces of the quantity, 56%, were represented by cash dispensers of Ceska sporitelna (Czech Republic). The number of cash dispensers per 1 mil inhabitants is 2-3-times lower in the Czech Republic compared to western Europe. It is caused by economic reasons. Banks plan to increase the number of their cash dispensers by 150-200 in 2001. There are about 2,500 cards per one cash dispenser in the Czech Republic.

Czech Republic: According to a research of IDC, 296,443 computers worth USD 386.3 mil were sold in the Czech Republic in 2000. Computer sales increased by 6.8% in 2000 compared to 1999, which was only a 50% increase compared to 1998. The tempo decreased compared to the average of East European countries.
