OPEC to seek help in keeping prices up

Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, the president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, said that the cartel will not make further production cuts with the cooperation of non-OPEC nations. Al-Attiyah's comments come a day after OPEC lowered production targets.

IEA sounds warning on tight oil supplies

International Energy Agency (IEA) stated that OPEC cannot compensate on its own for any lost oil exports from Iraq, in the event of a war in that country. The IEA's statement conflicted with OPEC's guarantees that it would proide enough oil for world markets.
