A case study of JapanEs Brother Industries, who has transformed into the business of compact, multifunction fax machines from the antiquated typewriters and sewing machines, in order to carve a niche in the fast moving competitive world, is presented. Yoshihiro Yasui, chairman of Brother Industries says that the establishment of backward integration has helped them in cutting back on procurement costs and deliver cost effective cutting edge technology.
