Old Dutch bets chips on MacLaren

Old Dutch Foods Ltd, a snack foods manufacturer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, turned to Calgary, Alberta-based ad agency MacLaren McCann West for a brand ID campaign for its new Rave potato chip. The hiring of MacLaren McCann West represents the first step Old Dutch Foods' plan to move its Canadian advertising from Minneapolis, MN, to Western Canada. Before the contract with MacLaren McCann, the advertising for both Old Dutch Foods and Minneapolis-based Old Dutch Inc was handled by two ad agencies in Minneapolis.

Drug Trading plays up commitment

Drug Trading Company Ltd has launched its more than $10 million Pharmacy 2000 rebranding campaign with five TV spots created by Two Door Communications. The spots portray the intensity of the efforts of its member pharmacies in assisting their customers. The ads depict the actual experiences of some of the 1,500 pharmacists who operate under Drug Trading's retail groups which are IDA, RxCentral, Guardian and Community Drug Mart.

$8M Coke biz moves to MacLaren

Coca-Cola Co has shifted its English advertising for Coke Classic, worth moe than $8 million, to MacLaren McCann of Toronto, Ontario. The move was prompted by Coca-Cola aligning its brand globally with Interpublic Group of Companies Inc, MacLaren's parent company. Under the contract, MacLaren is responsible for developing equity advertising for Coke Classic in English Canada.
