Olympic dreams
Article Abstract:
Many home owners in Sydney, Australia, believe that they will be able to offer accommodation at high prices to athletes competing in the 2000 Olympic Games. Others are keen to derive even greater financial benefit from this event by making available accommodation over a longer period for contract workers who will be present in the city for many months before the Olympic Games actually start. The organizers of the Olympic Games have recently set up the Sydney 2000 Residential Accommodation Programme.

Golden shake-out: Australian miners bear the brunt of Reserve Bank sell-off
Article Abstract:
Gold miners throughout Australia are bearing the brunt of the fall in the July gold price to a 12-year low of $315 and ounce, and the announcement that the Reserve Bank of Australia had dumped two thirds of its god reserves.
