On an approach to the modelling of problems connected with conflicting economic interests
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze a way of using results obtained in linear and linear-fractional programming in applications associated with the coordination of conflicting economic interests. The association between linear and linear-fractional programming problems with the same feasible set was examined. Results indicated that in some cases, the dual estimates of linear and linear-fractional programming are closely related.

Optimizing solid waste collection in Brussels
Article Abstract:
An operations research method is integrated with systems engineering to develop an effective solid waste collection management plan for Brussels. This approach uses linear programming techniques to analyze how solid waste transportation costs are minimized in a major urban area. Several parameters are considered in the analysis by the proposed algorithm, including the mode of transportation and the collection routes.
