On the computational complexity of (maximum) shift class scheduling
Article Abstract:
The Fixed Job Scheduling Problem, which is represented by the aircraft maintenance process in the airport, is analyzed. Tasks are to be carried out, with each task having the attributes of a fixed start time, a fixed completion time and a value representative of the immediacy of the task. A number of machines are available for the jobs at specific shifts only, with each job performed sequentially. A formal definition of the Shift Class Scheduling and Maximum Shift Class Scheduling problems is also presented.

Exact and approximation algorithms for the operational fixed interval scheduling problem
Article Abstract:
Exact and approximation algorithms for solving the operational fixed interval scheduling problem (OFISP) are presented. The OFISP arises from the scheduling of several jobs, each of them with a fixed starting time, fixed ending time, priority index and job class, such that there is maximal total priority in the assignment of jobs to machines. The algorithms are effective because they address the job scheduling and task assignment aspects of OFISP.

License class design: complexity and algorithms
Article Abstract:
The License Class Design in relation to L and License Class Design with Uniform Cost in relation to L, which are problems connected with aircraft maintenance processes in airports are discussed. The computational complexity of the problems are classified, showing that the polynomially solvable cases can be solved using a combination of linear programming and network flow algorithms.
