Optimal production planning in pull flow lines with multiple products
Article Abstract:
A study investigated the problem of scheduling deterministic production pull flow lines with multiple products to derive production rates overtime to reduce total costs. Machines are assumed to be reliable and completely flexible such that they can produce any product at any fraction of capacity. No costs are incurred when a machine switches from manufacturing one product to manufacturing another. Demand rate for each product is assumed to be constant overtime.
