Market opportunities in the telecommunications services sector
Article Abstract:
Telecoms services providers are facing a radical shake-up of their market due to regulatory changes and technological advances. Liberalisation of telecoms markets is progressing very slowly, and there have been difficulties creating effective regulatory frameworks. However, most countries have begun to privatise their state-owned telecoms firms, and competition is expected to increase as new entrants move into the market and technological changes take place. There is also a growing trend towards international strategic alliances.
