Otsuka entra en Europa a traves del mercado espanol
Article Abstract:
The first European subsidiary of the Japanese pharmaceutical group Otsuka Pharmaceutical has been opened in Spain, and will start being operative from October 1998. Spain, where the Japanese firm has being co-operated with Laboratorios Miquel, will be used by Otsuka has the platform from where expanding its presence in Europe. Apart from being in charge of the production process in Laboratorios Miquel, Otsuka has announced its intention of opening more factories in the next months. Otsuka Pharmaceutical will soon launch 'Grepax', an antibiotic indicated for several infections, and in the next two years plans are to present two molecules for gastroenterological and cardiovascular diseases. *

The Spanish subsidiary of the Swedish telecoms equipment manufacturer Ericsson, Ericsson Espana has been awarded a Pta 3,500mn contract by the main Algerian telecoms operator for the supply of mobile network infrastructure. Ericsson Espana is also negotiating a cellular network contract in Morocco. Overseas sales of the Spanish-based company totalled Pta 40,667mn in 1997 of which only a mere 2% was on account of the African market. *

The US personal computer manufacturer Dell Computer aims at reaching the second position of the Spanish market by the year 2001. Dell Computer will be mainly specialized in the sale of high standard computers and it is expected to sell Pta 4,500mn and 15,000 terminals in 1999. In November 1998, the US firm will present its 'Dimension XPS' range. Part of the marketing strategy will be based on the Internet and telephone sale. *
