Ownership and production efficiency: evidence from Taiwanese banks
Article Abstract:
Taiwan began a deregulation trend in early 1990's to enhance competition across all industries and to promote economic efficiency. The relationship between technical efficiency and government shareholdings in Taiwanese banks is examined. It is concluded that Taiwanese banks can improve efficiency by adopting mixed ownership at a diminishing rate.

Using customer motivations to reduce peak demand: does it work?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of customers' behavior by educating them about methods to reducing waiting times that results in better services and reduces operating costs is examined. The results of the study on customers' behavior at two bank branches of Canada Trust are presented. The factors that affect the demand management effectiveness are summarized.
