Pagers with attitude: Hutchison challenges Singapore status quo
Article Abstract:
Pager company Hutchison Paging released a series of provocative print advertisements for its pager and paging service in the hope of garnering a significant share of the paging business dominated by Singapore Telecommunications. Hutchison contracted the ad campaign to Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising and has been successful in eliciting reactions from readers. Singapore Telecommunications has invested heavily in advertising, even prior to the entry of Hutchison and other paging companies into Singapore, sinking as much $8.9 million in advertising in 1996.
