Article Abstract:
The Finnish Consumers' insurance agency was contacted on approx. 7,500 matters in 1997. A quarter of the complaints regarded home insurance. Consumers complain on restriction of insurance terms, interpretation of the terms and the amount of indemnity. Especially water damage matters cause many inquiries. The appealing parties are surprised i.a. on there being age reductions on full value insurance lowering the indemnity. The Finnish insurance board received a record-breaking 910 requests for statement in 1997. A third of the cases were amended.

Sanomalehtipaperin markkinoilla vajetta
Article Abstract:
The Finnish paper industry managers estimate that the strike on the Canadian Abitibi-Consolidated mill will cause serious disturbance on the newsprint markets. However, it is unlikely that the American publishers would buy paper from Europe. The British markets seem now exceptionally tempting to the Finnish companies. Canadian paper has been exported to Britain and due to the high exchange rate of the British pound producers have not been able to raise prices. The Canadian strike may change the situation in favour of the Finns.
Comment:
