Pakhoed warns of profit decline in '99

Koninklijke Pakhoed NV said that it expected to post lower profits for the 1999 year. The company has been suffering in a weak chemical industry. Pakhoed said that it is expecting to see its 1999 profits fall below the 98 million euros ($105.6 million) that it posted in 1998 due to a reduced chemical storage demand. Pakhoed said that it cannot see a possible recovery in the future in its European chemical storage and shipping operations.
