Panter Hudspith/Leeds Theater
Article Abstract:
Panter Hudspith Architects won the job for urban regeneration of the Civic Hall cinema in Leeds, a building recognized as an outstanding example of inter-war traditionalism, constructed of richly decorated Portland stone on steel furniture. The theater is an entirely new structure, with a bar/restaurant at ground level, a highly flexible 350-seat auditorium that occupies the remainder of the new building, with dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces, workshops and offices for the theater in the adjacent buildings.
