Pass the parcel
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom government is decide whether to privatize the Post Office. This could take a number of forms such as the sale of a minority stake in the Post Office, or a publicly owned, independent company could be set up. Labor unions favor the latter option, which would give the Post Office greater freedom to invest. The Post Office has great support from the public, and there could be opposition to privatization. A bond issue is a possible solution, allowing holders to share in profits, but with no voting rights. The Post Office faces increased competition, so cannot continue with no freedom to set up alliances or invest.
