Article Abstract:
'Last Supper', a mural by Leonardo da Vinci, has been restored over 20 years by a team headed by Pinin Brambilla. The original mural was only partly the work of Leonardo, and has already been restored a number of times. It has also been damaged over the centuries due to wartime events, and was made using a technique that left the painting unstable. The new restoration has sought to uncover the original behind the work of other restorers. There are some doubts as to whether such restoration work is worth doing.
