Pharmaceuticals in Germany
Article Abstract:
German consumption of pharmaceutical products increased in 1996 to a total value of DM49 billion. This was the third successive year of increase, but a change to more expensive products accounted for nearly all this increase, whilst volume sales showed little change. Consumption dropped sharply from Nov 1996. Prices of most pharmaceutical products were either declining or unchanged. German manufacturers exported DM17.5 billion of pharmaceutical products in 1996, and pharmaceutical imports totalled DM11.8 billion.
