Philips posts surge in net profit

Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. of the Netherlands net profit for the fourth quarter has more than doubled to 680 million Euros ($881.5 million) up from 332 million Euros last year. Revenues were due to the sale of a subsidiary and favourable taxation. However, sales of consumer electronics were down.
