The Lord Chancellor's Department is choosing from a long list of architects to design the Manchester Civil Justice Centre. The project will provide a blueprint for future Public Private Partnership arrangements. The three short-listed architects chosen for the project should be announced in the next few weeks.

RIBA's wind turbine hopes blown out by council planners

The RIBA's plans to supply a model for sustainable architecture have been shot down by Westminster City Council, which will refuse planning permission for two wind turbines on the roof of its headquarters building. The basis of the objection is the visual impact of the turbines.
