Magnificent seven to decide on architecture champion
Article Abstract:
Seven design experts are to decide on an architecture champion and the chair will be appointed in March. The DCMS has not ruled out an architect or one of the seven experts, for the position. The chair will be in the post for three years and will decide on the number of commissioners and their regional remit. The initial budget of 1.3 million pounds sterling has been criticized by Lucy Musgrave, director of the Architecture Foundation, as insufficient.

Foster axes 'circus tent' look and opts for Wembley arch
Article Abstract:
The UK's newly refurbished national stadium at Wembley, London will be crowned with a 153 meter high steel arch instead of the original spiked roof which the designers claimed resembled a circus tent. The new stadium will cost an estimated 475 million pound sterling to build and will cater for a capacity crowd of 90,000 people. The original design was also felt to resemble other national stadiums throughout the world.
