Playboy name helps MBf market condoms in Asia

MBF USA Marketing and Sales VP Lynn A. Weitzke says that her company used the Playboy name in their product to reinforce the notion that the condom they sell is of high quality. According to Weitzker, increased awareness of AIDS among Asians and greater government involvement in the information dissemination regarding the disease have lead to a surge in condom demand in Asia. Weitzke is lookimg forward to MBF USA's expansion in the Asian market.

First China Fund targets gains from light industry

The continued opening of the Chinese economy has allowed the First China Fund to make direct investments in the form of joint consumer goods manufacturing ventures. The fund is structured in such a way that precludes rolling over a portion into different industries. Connections with the Chinese government have helped pave the way for the fund but there is also the inherent risk that government may not share the same goals with investors.

Jackie Chan rumbles toward more stardom

Chinese action star Jackie Chan stars in a new motion picture produced by New Line Cinema entitled 'Rumble in the Bronx.' Chan stars as a Hong Kong police officer who visits New York, NY, to attend his uncle's wedding.
