Poland picks Dresdner Kleinwort to advise on sale of national airline
Article Abstract:
Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, the German investment bank, will advise the Polish government on the privatization of the flag carrier Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT, said sources close to the tender. Dresdner and its local partner, Business Management & Finance, won the contract in a field of nine bidders. The contract calls for Dresdner to draw up a plan to privatize LOT, which is the last central-European airline entirely owned by the state. Officials at the country's State Treasury Ministry have said they plan to push through with the privatization in the first quarter of 1998.
